Introduction to Circular Cutting Knives

Working Principle
- Tangential Cutting: The material is cut in the tangential direction of the upper and lower disc knives. This cutting method is convenient for knife alignment. It only requires directly adjusting the positions of the upper and lower knives according to the cutting width requirements. However, its disadvantage is that the material is likely to drift at the cutting position, resulting in low cutting accuracy. Nowadays, this method is generally less used.
- Non-tangential Cutting: There is a certain included angle between the material and the lower disc knife, and the material is cut when the lower disc knife falls. This method can prevent the material from drifting, and it has high cutting accuracy. But it is not convenient to adjust the knife. When installing the lower disc knife, it is usually necessary to remove the entire shaft. Non-tangential cutting is suitable for cutting relatively thick composite films and paper materials.
